Craig McMillan, Executive Director of Sand Lake Ambulance, detailed the proposal, emphasizing excellent service with mutual aid from nearby services like North Greenbush and East Greenbush. The cost, averaging $150 per year, was compared favorably to trash collection, Netflix, or frequent Gipfels coffee runs.

Dr. Waren Hayashi highlighted the critical need for prompt paramedic-level service, citing slow response times of the current system and sharing examples of how faster service saves lives.

Residents’ questions were thoroughly answered. Supervisor Tom Russell noted the Town Board will decide based on resident input. If approved, opponents could petition for a permissive referendum, potentially placing the issue on the November ballot.

A follow-up meeting is scheduled for April 23, 2025, at 7 PM at East Poestenkill Baptist Church.

Here is Dr. Hayashi’s report.
